About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting in pharmacy operations. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and supporting pharmacists in their duties under supervision. The associate plays a key role in ensuring a positive customer experience and maintaining operational efficiency in the pharmacy department.

Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Recommends items for sale and trade-up or companion items to customers.
  • Processes customer purchases, including cash handling and returns.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves.
  • Enters patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately.
  • Fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist's attention.
  • Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services efficiently.
  • Assists with inventory management activities in the pharmacy department.
  • Constructs and maintains promotional displays and resets as directed.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area and assists with web pick-up responsibilities.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
