About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The associate plays a key role in enhancing the customer experience and maintaining operational efficiency within the pharmacy department.

Responsibilities

• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous checkout service.
• Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
• Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Recommends items for sale and assists customers in locating products.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, takes inventory, and maintains records.
• Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist, including entering patient and drug information and filling prescriptions.
• Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
• Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services and performs clerical duties as assigned.
• Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Constructs and maintains displays for promotional and seasonal merchandise.

Requirements

• Less than high school education required.
• No prior experience necessary.
