About the position

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in enhancing customer experiences by providing assistance and support in a pharmacy setting. This entry-level position focuses on building relationships with customers, helping them navigate their health needs, and ensuring a positive and efficient service experience. You will be involved in various operational tasks, including processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment, all while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Registers sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous and efficient checkout service.
• Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Shares customer service best practices with team members to enhance customer interactions.
• Provides fast and efficient service, recommending items for sale and assisting customers in locating products.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, takes inventory, and checks in merchandise as required.
• Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist, including entering patient and drug information and filling prescriptions accurately.
• Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention and processes manual claims for third-party prescription services.
• Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals, and maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques.
• Constructs and maintains promotional displays and assists with food item separation and stock rotation.
• Provides customer service in the photo area and assumes web pick-up responsibilities.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products and maintains a clean store appearance.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
