About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting in pharmacy operations under the supervision of a pharmacist. This part-time role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and supporting pharmacy workflows to ensure a positive experience for patients and customers alike.

Responsibilities

• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous checkout service.
• Assists the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Recommends items for sale and processes customer purchases, including cash handling.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, and takes inventory.
• Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist, including filling prescriptions and verifying medications.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention and processes manual claims for third-party services.
• Assists with inventory management activities and ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
