About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The associate will also support inventory management and maintain a clean and organized store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides efficient checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
  • Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Recommends items for sale and assists customers in locating products.
  • Processes customer purchases, including cash handling and returns.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves.
  • Enters patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately.
  • Fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention.
  • Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services.
  • Assists with inventory management activities in the pharmacy department.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Constructs and maintains promotional displays and resets as directed.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area and assists with web pick-up responsibilities.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly store condition and appearance.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
