About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The associate will also manage inventory and assist in various operational tasks to maintain a well-functioning pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides efficient checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
  • Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Recommends items for sale and processes customer purchases, including cash handling.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, and takes inventory.
  • Assists pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, and reports prescription errors.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
  • Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking shipments.
  • Constructs and maintains promotional displays and ensures compliance with product placement policies.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Entry-level position with basic qualifications in customer service and pharmacy operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
  • Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
