About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The associate will also support inventory management and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
  • Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Shares customer service best practices with team members.
  • Recommends items for sale and assists customers in locating products.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves.
  • Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist.
  • Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist's attention.
  • Processes manual claims for third party prescription services.
  • Assists with inventory management activities and maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.

Requirements

  • No specific education required.
  • Experience in customer service preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy systems and procedures.
