As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the pharmacy operations. Your ability to communicate effectively and compassionately will be essential in creating a welcoming environment for customers. Moreover, you will be involved in operational tasks such as maintaining inventory, merchandising products, and ensuring the pharmacy area is clean and organized. You will also have the opportunity to participate in training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge in the pharmacy field, including earning and maintaining PTCB certification. Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues and answering questions.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive customer experience.
  • Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
  • Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up and/or companion items.
  • Processes customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash, and distributes change as requested; processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
  • Maintains clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves, takes inventory, and maintains records.
  • Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information and filling prescriptions.
  • Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist.
  • Processes manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely manner and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal merchandise.
  • Assists with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies/procedures.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
  • Assumes web pick-up responsibilities and monitors orders in Picture Care Plus.
  • Assists with store maintenance to ensure a clean and orderly store appearance.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
