About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The associate will also maintain store operations and assist in inventory management, all while providing a friendly and efficient shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
  • Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Recommends items for sale and trade-up or companion items.
  • Processes customer purchases, including cash handling and returns.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves.
  • Enters patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately.
  • Fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention.
  • Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services efficiently.
  • Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and storing pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Constructs and maintains promotional displays and merchandise placement.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area and assumes web pick-up responsibilities.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly store condition and appearance.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
