About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The associate will also maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, manage inventory, and support various operational tasks to enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides efficient checkout service.
• Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
• Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Recommends items for sale and processes customer purchases.
• Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records.
• Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist, including entering patient and drug information.
• Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
• Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely manner.
• Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Constructs and maintains displays and assists with product placement as specified by policies.
• Provides customer service in the photo area and assumes web pick-up responsibilities.
• Maintains a clean and orderly store condition and appearance.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
