About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting pharmacists in the pharmacy operations. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The associate will also support inventory management and maintain a clean and organized store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides efficient checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
  • Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Recommends items for sale and processes customer purchases.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves.
  • Enters patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately.
  • Fills prescriptions and verifies medicine correctness.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist's attention.
  • Processes manual claims for third party prescription services.
  • Assists with inventory management activities and maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques.
  • Constructs and maintains promotional displays and ensures compliance with product placement policies.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area and assumes web pick-up responsibilities.
  • Ensures a clean and orderly store condition and appearance.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
