About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Representative at Florida PACE Centers, Inc. plays a crucial role in facilitating pharmacy services for participants enrolled in the PACE program. This position serves as the primary contact for pharmacy-related inquiries and ensures effective communication between the vendor pharmacy and healthcare staff, contributing to the overall care of elderly patients with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the vendor pharmacy and PACE participants regarding pharmacy requests, issues, or concerns.
• Coordinate patient status including enrollments, disenrollments, and hospitalizations with the vendor pharmacy.
• Document interactions with the vendor pharmacy and participants accurately.
• Record any medication incidents and resolutions.
• Communicate with medical staff regarding medication orders, refills, or changes needed by pharmacy.
• Facilitate obtaining medications from specialty pharmacies as required.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and checking expiration dates for medications stocked in the PACE clinic.
• Stock the vendor pharmacy automated dispensing machines and communicate needs or issues to the vendor pharmacy.
• Coordinate with vendor pharmacy delivery drivers and couriers.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, committees, and work groups as applicable.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of recent experience as a Certified Medication Technician or Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• 1 year of experience working with the elderly population preferred.
• Current Medication Technician Certification or Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
• Valid Florida Driver's License and Auto Insurance.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish; knowledge of Creole is a plus.
• Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team environment.
