The Pharmacy Director at Encompass Health is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the pharmacy department's operations, ensuring the safe and efficient provision of pharmacy services. Responsibilities

  • Convey the mission of the hospital and organization to pharmacy staff, holding them accountable for performance.
  • Oversee the pharmacy department's operations, including scheduling and implementing process improvements.
  • Provide direct patient and pharmaceutical care.
  • Demonstrate and maintain competence in clinical health system pharmacy practices.
  • Educate staff on pharmaceutical care and medication management, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Stay current with new medications and evidence-based medicine.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to prepare and manage departmental budgets.
  • Actively serve and lead various hospital committees, including Quality Assurance and Pharmacy and Therapeutics.

Requirements

  • Licensed in good standing by the State Pharmacy Board for the state where the hospital is located.
  • Successful completion of a degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in antimicrobial stewardship and medication safety.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy accreditation processes.
