About the position
The Pharmacy Drug Use Policy (DUP) Manager at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center plays a critical role in developing, maintaining, and implementing drug use policies and protocols. This position involves collaboration with various healthcare professionals and managing a team of Drug Use Policy Specialists and Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists. The role also includes strategic planning for therapeutic advances and evaluating new drugs for the formulary, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, pharmacy, and healthcare team members on drug use policies and protocols.
- Manage human resources for the Drug Use Policy team, consisting of 6 Drug Use Policy Specialists and 3 Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists.
- Strategic planning for biologics and therapeutic advances.
- Develop evidence-based guidelines in collaboration with medical staff.
- Evaluate new drugs for the formulary.
- Develop content for Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee meetings.
- Collaborate with staff on complex therapeutic issues and target drug programs.
Requirements
- Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy in the USA.
- Post-graduate residency training preferred or equivalent experience.
- Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
- Board certification in pharmacology preferred.
- BLS certification.
- Strong clinical background.
- Experience in Drug Use Policy preferred.
