About the position
The Pharmacy Drug Use Policy (DUP) Manager at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center plays a critical role in enhancing patient care through the development and implementation of drug use policies and protocols. This position involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team and management of the Drug Use Policy team, ensuring effective drug information services and stewardship programs. The role is hybrid, allowing for remote work once a week, and emphasizes strategic planning and evidence-based practices in pharmacology.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, pharmacy, and healthcare team members on drug use policies and protocols.
- Manage human resources for the Drug Use Policy team, consisting of 6 Drug Use Policy Specialists and 3 Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists.
- Strategically plan for biologics and therapeutic advances.
- Develop evidence-based guidelines in collaboration with medical staff.
- Evaluate new drugs for the formulary and develop content for Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee meetings.
- Address complex therapeutic issues and target drug programs.
Requirements
- Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy in the USA.
- Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
- Strong clinical background in pharmacy.
- Board certification in pharmacology preferred.
- BLS certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Post-graduate residency training or equivalent experience in pharmacy.
- Experience in Drug Use Policy.
