About the position
The Pharmacy Drug Use Policy (DUP) Manager at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center plays a vital role in enhancing patient care through the development and implementation of drug use policies and protocols. This position involves collaboration with various healthcare professionals and managing a team dedicated to drug information services and the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. The role also includes strategic planning and evaluation of new drugs, ensuring evidence-based practices are followed in the pharmacy department.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, pharmacy, and healthcare team members on drug use policies and protocols.
- Manage human resources for the Drug Use Policy team, consisting of 6 Drug Use Policy Specialists and 3 Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists.
- Strategic planning for biologics and therapeutic advances.
- Develop evidence-based guidelines in collaboration with medical staff.
- Evaluate new drugs for the formulary.
- Develop content for Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee meetings.
- Collaborate with staff on complex therapeutic issues and target drug programs.
Requirements
- Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy in the USA.
- Post-graduate residency training preferred or equivalent experience.
- Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
- Board certification in pharmacology preferred.
- BLS certification.
