About the position

The Fulfillment Technician II position at Grane Rx is a full-time role that operates on a mid-shift schedule from 11 am to 7:30 pm. Located in RIDC Park, Pittsburgh, PA, this position is integral to the pharmacy department, which is directed and staffed by qualified pharmacists. The primary responsibility of the Fulfillment Technician II is to facilitate the daily preparation of various medications, including oral, liquid, and solid forms, utilizing medi-dose cups, bingo cards, SimplePack packaging, or unit-dose packaging. This role also encompasses essential tasks related to pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control, and processing supply and equipment orders. In this position, the Fulfillment Technician II will work closely with the Operations Manager and collaborate with a shared services team that includes customer service associates, order entry technicians, and staff pharmacists. The technician will be responsible for organizing daily workflows to meet delivery deadlines, assigning pharmacy technicians to appropriate filling locations, and answering customer inquiries regarding production. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the technician will assist in prepackaging medications for dispensing and may also be involved in the final checking of filled prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with pharmacy standards. The role requires a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, as well as compliance with all laws, regulations, and ethical conduct standards. The Fulfillment Technician II is expected to promote teamwork through effective communication and cooperation, supporting the overall goals of the company and the pharmacy department. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to perform additional duties as assigned are also key components of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes daily workflow to meet delivery deadlines
  • Assigns pharmacy technicians to appropriate filling locations
  • Answers phone calls from customers regarding production questions
  • Works closely with supervisors to help facilitate training of new team members
  • Medication order fulfillment including various packaging, dispensing machine, labeling, and shipping
  • Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist in prepackaging medication for dispensing
  • Assists the Pharmacist in final checking of filled prescriptions
  • Coordinates and stages items for delivery for accurate and timely delivery to the customer
  • Receives and stores incoming supplies, verifies quantities against invoices, checks for outdated medications in current inventory
  • Mixes pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions
  • Assists with special projects as needed
  • Supports location, departmental goals, and overall objectives of the Company
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and standards of ethical conduct
  • Maintains professional/technical competencies and proficiencies for job responsibilities
  • Promotes teamwork through cooperation and communication to attain company and departmental goals
  • Performs other duties as necessary

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmacy is preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
  • Successful completion of a pharmacy training program is preferred
  • Specialization in the preparation of IV admixtures preferred
  • Knowledge of basic drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, drug use, and aseptic technique
  • Must possess computer knowledge skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Interpersonal skills required for effective and courteous customer interaction
