About the position

The position involves providing pharmacy consulting services to customers, focusing on effective medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare services such as immunizations. The pharmacist is responsible for compounding, dispensing, reviewing, and verifying prescribed medications while adhering to regulatory guidelines and company policies. Additionally, the role supports pharmacy operations by optimizing financials, managing inventory, and enhancing customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely manner and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers by anticipating their needs and proactively offering services.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and privacy.
  • Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, and medication management.
  • Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations and company policies.
  • Assist the pharmacy manager in establishing efficient workflow procedures.
  • Open and close the pharmacy and manage shift change duties.
  • Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems and propose enhancements to promote productivity.
  • Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and follow up with insurance companies.
  • Conduct retail, clinical, and wellness services such as immunizations and diabetes awareness.
  • Assist the pharmacy manager in analyzing performance data and reviewing KPIs.
  • Develop relationships with the local medical community and participate in outreach activities.
  • Support customer registration and issue resolution with Central Pharmacy Operations.
  • Conduct virtual product reviews in compliance with company procedures.
  • Assist with staff hiring and training, and provide performance feedback.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Communicate relevant health and wellness information to pharmacy staff.

Requirements

  • Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before starting the position.
  • Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience in prescription dispensing activities with knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
  • Certified Immunizer or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
