About the position

This position is designed for 3rd year pharmacy students who are eager to make a significant impact on patient care while working under the supervision of licensed pharmacists. You will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment, delivering exceptional care to each patient. Your responsibilities will include patient safety, adhering to pharmacy professional practices, meeting regulatory requirements, ensuring quality assurance, providing excellent customer service, managing inventory, and overseeing workflow management, excluding final prescription verification. In this role, you will be expected to lead with heart, displaying empathy and compassion for patients, customers, caregivers, and colleagues. You will seek new ways to grow and collaborate with others to deliver better health outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety and compliance with pharmacy professional practices.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and caregivers.
  • Manage inventory effectively to ensure availability of medications.
  • Oversee workflow management in the pharmacy, excluding final prescription verification.
  • Lead patient care programs to keep customers and patients healthy.
  • Display empathy and compassion in all interactions with patients and team members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve health outcomes and foster a supportive team environment.

Requirements

  • Accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines and timeframe.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, scan, and bag items as needed.
  • Finger dexterity for tasks such as typing and picking.
  • Ability to reach overhead and grasp items effectively.
  • Visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing and reading.
  • Ability to communicate information and instructions orally to colleagues and customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Immunization eligibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Striving to provide patient immunizations once state regulations are met.
