About the position

The Pharmacist in Charge at Walmart is responsible for leading the pharmacy team with a focus on patient-centered care and business acumen. This role emphasizes community involvement, staff development, and operational excellence, ensuring compliance with regulations while driving sales and profitability. The position requires strong clinical knowledge and the ability to connect authentically with patients, advocating for their health and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care by processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders and administering immunizations.
  • Drive sales and profit in the Pharmacy and OTC areas through effective merchandise presentation and inventory management.
  • Model and enforce proper customer service approaches to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Oversee community outreach programs and encourage associates to engage with the community.
  • Ensure compliance with company and legal policies by analyzing reports and implementing action plans.
  • Supervise and develop pharmacy associates through training, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Conduct associate meetings to address needs and share information on new initiatives.
  • Monitor inventory flow and ensure proper execution of inventory processes.
  • Demonstrate sound financial management skills, including budget management and financial reporting.
  • Create a culture of patient care, safety, and accuracy, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD, or equivalent FPGEC (NABP).
  • Pharmacy license by job entry date.
  • Completion of an ACPE accredited immunization training program.
