About the position

The Pharmacy Manager for Inventory & Logistics at Montefiore Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the management and procurement of pharmaceuticals and supplies for the ambulatory pharmacies. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the medications and supplies necessary for the effective operation of a pharmacy. The individual will be tasked with optimizing the utilization of storeroom and distribution associates to achieve operational goals, while also engaging in problem-solving and continuous evaluation of purchasing and inventory systems. A significant focus of this position will be on cost management and service improvement, ensuring that the pharmacy operates efficiently and effectively. The Pharmacy Manager will make medication purchasing decisions under the supervision of a New York State licensed pharmacist. Additionally, this individual will assist the Director with time and attendance management, as well as scheduling maintenance for the department. The role also involves participating in the hiring process, including interviewing, orientation, discipline, and performance evaluations of pharmacy associates. The work location for this position is at 100 Corporate Blvd, Yonkers, NY 10701, with scheduled hours from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and procure pharmaceuticals and supplies for ambulatory pharmacies.
  • Optimize the utilization of storeroom and distribution associates.
  • Engage in problem-solving and continuous evaluation of purchasing and inventory systems.
  • Focus on cost management and service improvement.
  • Make medication purchasing decisions under the supervision of a NYS licensed pharmacist.
  • Assist the Director with time and attendance and scheduling maintenance for the department.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a relevant field.
  • 3 years of related work experience in pharmacy management.
  • PTCB certification and NYS Pharmacy Tech license.
  • Knowledge and use of pharmacy management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
  • Three years of experience in outpatient/retail pharmacy.
  • One year of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations related to the 340B program.
