This position is vital in optimizing the medication reconciliation process for healthcare providers, thereby reducing medication errors that can arise from incomplete or inaccurate medication histories. You will also be responsible for updating and clarifying drug allergy information within the patient's electronic health record, ensuring that all relevant data is accurate and up-to-date. In addition to these responsibilities, you will maintain the standard capabilities and functions of a pharmacy technician. This includes preparing, charging, prepackaging, delivering, outdating, ordering, and receiving medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsibilities

  • Compile correct and current medication lists for patients admitted to the hospital.
  • Optimize the medication reconciliation process for providers.
  • Decrease medication errors by alleviating incomplete or inaccurate medication history information.
  • Update and clarify drug allergy information for the patient's electronic health record.
  • Prepare, charge, prepackage, deliver, outdate, order, and receive medications under the supervision of the Pharmacist.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; documentation within 30 days of hire.
  • NCBOP Pharmacy Technician Registration is required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certificate is required.
