About the position

The Pharmacy Operations Manager at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. This role involves supervising pharmacy technicians, managing pharmacy systems, and engaging with customers to enhance their experience. The manager also plays a key role in training and performance management of staff, while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
  • Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under the guidance of a pharmacist.
  • Engage customers and resolve complaints to enhance customer experience.
  • Assist pharmacists in patient care delivery, including registration and prescription processing.
  • Manage pharmacy daily schedule and core workflow activities.
  • Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies.
  • Drive new technology and process rollouts within the pharmacy.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
  • Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist.
  • Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials and operational quality.
  • Lead performance management of pharmacy technicians, including hiring and training.
  • Maintain PTCB certification and enhance knowledge related to pharmacy and healthcare.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous people management/leadership experience.
  • Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
