About the position

The Pharmacy Operations Manager at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and enhancing the patient experience. This role involves supervising pharmacy technicians and cashiers, managing pharmacy systems, and supporting the pharmacist in delivering patient care. The manager is also accountable for training, performance management, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
  • Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under the guidance of a pharmacist.
  • Manage the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel.
  • Engage customers and resolve complaints to enhance customer experience.
  • Assist the pharmacist in patient care delivery, including registration and prescription processing.
  • Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in operations.
  • Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with business administrative activities and inventory management tasks.
  • Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials and operational quality.
  • Lead performance management of pharmacy technicians, including discipline and termination decisions.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with pharmacy and team member licensures and certifications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous people management/leadership experience.
  • Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
