About the position

The Pharmacy Operations Manager at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. This role involves supervising pharmacy technicians and cashiers, managing pharmacy personnel, and engaging with customers to enhance their experience. The manager also assists pharmacists in patient care delivery and ensures compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under the guidance of a pharmacist.
• Engage with customers to resolve complaints and enhance their experience.
• Assist pharmacists in patient care delivery, including patient registration and prescription data entry.
• Manage pharmacy workflow and ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies.
• Drive excellence in pharmacy operations and manage daily schedules.
• Ensure compliance with business administrative activities and pharmacy inventory management tasks.
• Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials and operational quality.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous people management/leadership experience.
• Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
