About the position

The position involves overseeing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities to ensure efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. As a certified pharmacy technician, the individual will operate pharmacy systems, supervise pharmacy staff, and engage with customers to enhance their experience. The role includes responsibilities in training, performance management, and compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
  • Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under the guidance of a pharmacist.
  • Select, schedule, and develop pharmacy technician personnel.
  • Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer complaints and respond to requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist pharmacist in patient care delivery, including patient registration and prescription data entry.
  • Complete patient and physician calls under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assist with healthcare service offerings, including administering vaccines and health screenings.
  • Prepare and file reports and records required by the company and government agencies.
  • Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in pharmacy operations.
  • Coordinate and organize pharmacy daily schedule of activities.
  • Ensure the pharmacy is clean, neat, orderly, and stocked with adequate supplies.
  • Exercise independent judgment to ensure compliance with business administrative activities and inventory management tasks.
  • Manage annual inventory preparation and completion of non-clinical patient calls.
  • Drive new technology/process rollouts and engage the team in action planning.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of pharmacy department equipment.
  • Support Pharmacy Manager with diversion monitoring and report security concerns.
  • Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and follow up with insurance companies and medical providers.
  • Assist Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
  • Manage Community Outreach Portal and coordinate off-site immunization clinics and community events.
  • Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions.
  • Monitor and hold pharmacy technicians accountable for timely training completion.
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager in monitoring pharmacy and team member licensures and certifications.
  • Maintain PTCB certification and enhance knowledge related to pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Communicate with pharmacy team and participate in key store/pharmacy meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
