About the position
The Pharmacy Operations Manager at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. This role involves supervising pharmacy technicians and cashiers, managing pharmacy systems, and assisting in patient care under the supervision of a pharmacist. The manager is also accountable for training, performance management, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
- Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within company policies and regulations.
- Engage customers and resolve complaints to enhance customer experience.
- Assist pharmacists in patient care delivery, including registration and prescription data entry.
- Manage pharmacy daily schedule and core workflow activities.
- Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies.
- Drive excellence in pharmacy operations and manage inventory preparation.
- Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies.
- Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials and operational quality.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous people management/leadership experience.
- Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
