About the position

The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing non-clinical pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and enhancing the customer experience. This role involves supervising pharmacy technicians, managing daily activities, and supporting the pharmacist in delivering patient care. The manager is accountable for training, performance management, and compliance with regulations while fostering a positive environment for both staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
• Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under the guidance of a pharmacist.
• Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians.
• Engage customers and resolve complaints to enhance customer experience.
• Assist pharmacist in patient care delivery, including registration and prescription data entry.
• Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in operations.
• Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies.
• Ensure compliance with business administrative activities and inventory management tasks.
• Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies.
• Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials and operational quality.
• Manage Community Outreach Portal and coordinate off-site immunization clinics.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous people management/leadership experience.
• Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
