About the position

The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. This role involves supervising pharmacy technicians, managing customer interactions, and assisting pharmacists in delivering patient care. The manager is accountable for training, performance management, and compliance with regulations while driving operational excellence within the pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Engage with customers to enhance their experience and resolve complaints.
• Assist pharmacists in patient care activities, including registration and prescription processing.
• Manage pharmacy workflow and coordinate daily activities to ensure efficiency.
• Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies.
• Drive new technology and process rollouts, ensuring team engagement.
• Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and adequate supply levels.
• Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to quality improvement programs.
• Manage community outreach initiatives and coordinate off-site immunization clinics.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous people management/leadership experience.
• Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
