About the position

The position involves overseeing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and ensuring efficient workflow while providing a positive patient experience. As a certified pharmacy technician, the individual will manage pharmacy systems, supervise staff, and engage with customers to enhance service delivery. The role includes responsibilities in training, performance management, and compliance with regulations, all under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
  • Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within company policies and regulations.
  • Select, schedule, and develop pharmacy technician personnel.
  • Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance.
  • Resolve customer complaints and respond to requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist pharmacist in patient care delivery, including registration and prescription data entry.
  • Prepare medications for patients and verify prescriptions as allowed by law.
  • Assist with healthcare service offerings under pharmacist supervision.
  • Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in operations.
  • Coordinate and organize daily pharmacy activities and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with business administrative activities and inventory management tasks.
  • Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies.
  • Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials and operational quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
