About the position
The Pharmacy/Pharmacist Floater role involves providing professional pharmacy services, including filling prescriptions, counseling patients, and supervising pharmacy technicians. Responsibilities
- Provide professional pharmacy services including filling prescriptions and counseling patients.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations.
- Interpret physicians' prescriptions and enter prescription and patient data into the computer system.
- Counsel patients regarding possible side effects of medications and proper administration.
- Consult with prescribers on drug therapy appropriateness.
- Administer immunizations under defined protocols.
- Monitor and maintain patient profiles and inventory levels.
- Perform daily operational duties under the direction of the pharmacy manager.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations and all health codes.
Requirements
- Minimum Board of Pharmacy license.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, approachable, and outgoing demeanor.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
- Strong math skills including basic algebra and geometry.
