About the position
The Pharmacy Student Intern position at Safeway, a division of Albertsons Companies, offers pharmacy students the opportunity to gain practical experience in a progressive pharmacy environment. Interns will focus on patient counseling, customer service, and various pharmacy practices while building meaningful relationships with patients and contributing to community health care.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.
- Take all steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Offer advice and consultation to customers and health care professionals regarding prescription knowledge, drug therapy, and health-related products and concerns.
- Implement company initiatives to increase pharmacy profitability.
- Actively participate in clinical services.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Must hold a valid state intern license if required by the state of employment.
- Ability to readily and positively adapt to changes in schedule specifications and work priorities as the business and customer needs demand.
- Ability to cooperate with others and work as part of a team.
