The position offers a compensation range of $20.68 to $32.05 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities

  • Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
  • Demonstrates the ability to competently work in different general and specialized areas of pharmacy practice.
  • Participates in the training of new employees.
  • Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
  • Follows policies and procedures consistently.
  • Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
  • Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed.
  • Uses appropriate systems for processing of patient information.
  • Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
  • Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months relevant experience required
  • Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required
  • CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
  • For team members hired prior to February 1, 2020, certification as CPhT through NHA or PTCB is required by January 31, 2022.
