About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician Representative at Cigna, you will play a crucial role in supporting our 95+ million members by helping them navigate their benefit offerings. This position is classified as a Band 1 Professional Career Track Role, emphasizing the importance of your contributions to our team and the lives of our customers. You will work in a dynamic environment, primarily during the evening hours from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. Your responsibilities will include selecting and retrieving appropriate quantities of medication, preparing labels, and ensuring compliance with strict HIPAA regulations. You will be part of a collaborative team that resolves requests in various departments, including Pull Department, Pull Rx, and Controls exception, while also engaging in continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks that require physical stamina, including walking, standing, and lifting boxes weighing up to 35 pounds. You will also be responsible for data entry, customer service notes, and processing member correspondence. Your ability to adhere to policies and procedures, work with supervisors and management, and cross-train across functional areas will be essential for your success. Responsibilities

  • Select and retrieve appropriate quantities of medication and prepare the labels that correspond.
  • Work as part of a team in resolving requests in Pull Department, Pull Rx, Letter processing, and Controls exception across ESI as needed.
  • Perform Pull Department responsibilities which require walking, standing, and repetitive lifting of boxes weighing 35lb and pulling prescriptions 95% of the work time.
  • Handle Pull Rx responsibilities including pulling, copying, faxing, and processing.
  • Conduct letter processing by providing data entry, typing customer service notes, and managing total member correspondence.
  • Manage Controls exception tasks including data verification, QA, and exception processing.
  • Adhere to strict HIPAA regulations when communicating with others outside of Express Scripts.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Management to cross-train and develop proficiency across all functional areas of the job.
  • Process letter requests using manual or automated databases, typing customer service notes in the system, pulling Rx, and processing member correspondence.
  • Work with RPh to obtain appropriate documentation to resolve requests.
  • Perform data input/validation, Quality Assurance (QA), Prescriber and Patient outreach, and collaborate with Pharmacy as per work instructions and management direction.
  • Participate in Lean and Continuous Improvement efforts internal and external to the department.
  • Complete and process data for reporting needs.
  • Prepare and organize work for storage both on and offsite.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid MO Pharmacy technician license registration required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
