About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region, you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team in delivering high-quality medication management and patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting pharmacists in promoting an organized and functional pharmacy service, preparing medications for dispensing, and maintaining accurate records. This position is essential in ensuring that patients receive their medications safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall health and well-being of the community. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure that all pharmacy operations run smoothly. In this position, you will be expected to adhere to all regulatory and safety standards while performing your duties. You will also have the opportunity to engage with patients and healthcare providers, providing information and support as needed. You will be working night shifts on a 7 on 7 off schedule, which allows for a unique work-life balance while still being a crucial part of the healthcare system. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in promoting an organized and functional pharmacy service.
  • Prepare medications for dispensing and maintain accurate records.
  • Engage with patients and healthcare providers to provide information and support.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards in pharmacy operations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.

Requirements

  • 1 year of hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred (completion of an Accredited Technician training course may substitute for experience).
  • Working knowledge of computer systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician License (Kansas), Certification (Colorado or Utah), Provisional Certification (Colorado), or Provisional License (Utah) required. Provisional Certifications must obtain State Certification within 12 months.
  • Ability to exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
