About the position

At Sam's Club, the Member Service Associate plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our members. This position involves acknowledging members as they enter the store, identifying their needs, and assisting them with purchasing decisions. The associate will help locate merchandise, resolve any issues or concerns, and promote the company's products and services. A key responsibility includes operating hardware such as cash registers and related equipment to process member purchases, as well as assisting with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges, ensuring adherence to appropriate procedures for different membership and payment types. In addition to general member service, the role encompasses providing pharmacy products and services in accordance with company policies. This includes assisting with the processing of prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders, stocking and securing pharmacy supplies, entering prescription information, and maintaining necessary documentation. The associate will also be responsible for receiving and stocking merchandise in the pharmacy area, organizing and maintaining this area by following company procedures, and completing required paperwork and logs. The Member Service Associate will complete work assignments and priorities by utilizing company policies, data, and resources. This involves collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners to identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations. The associate will carry out tasks, communicate progress, and recommend improvements while adapting to changes and feedback. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity is essential, and associates are expected to implement related action plans and utilize the Open Door Policy in executing business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with managers, co-workers, and customers to identify priorities and deadlines.
  • Communicate progress and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities.
  • Comply with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate cash registers and related equipment.
  • Experience in customer service or retail environment is preferred.

Nice-to-haves
