About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our members. Your primary responsibility will be to assist members with their pharmacy needs, which includes processing prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders, stocking pharmacy supplies, and ensuring that the pharmacy area is organized and compliant with company policies. You will be expected to operate hardware such as cash registers, process member purchases, and assist with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges. Your ability to acknowledge members, identify their needs, and resolve any issues will be key to enhancing their shopping experience. In addition to member service, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and documentation related to prescriptions and pharmacy operations. This includes entering prescription information, filing prescriptions, and completing necessary paperwork. You will also collaborate with managers, co-workers, and other business partners to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Your role will require you to adapt to changes and learn from feedback, ensuring that you comply with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity. Responsibilities

  • Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying their needs, and assisting with purchasing decisions.
  • Operate cash registers and related equipment, processing member purchases and assisting with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
  • Assist with processing prescription and OTC orders and purchases in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Stock and secure pharmacy supplies and merchandise, ensuring the pharmacy area is organized and maintained.
  • Enter prescription information and file prescriptions, completing and maintaining required documentation.
  • Collaborate with managers, co-workers, and other business partners to complete work assignments and prioritize tasks.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Requirements

  • Must be a certified pharmacy technician with relevant certification and training.
  • Ability to operate cash registers and related equipment effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with members and team members.
  • Attention to detail for accurate processing of prescriptions and documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a retail pharmacy environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy products and services.
  • Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
