About the position

The Pharmacy Education Coordinator at CoxHealth is responsible for planning and implementing pharmacy technician orientation, ensuring routine validation of techniques, and validating the performance and quality of technician duties. This role involves maintaining onboarding and ongoing competencies, performing quality audits, and supporting documentation across multiple pharmacy sites.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement pharmacy technician orientation.
  • Ensure routine validation of pharmacy technician techniques.
  • Validate performance and quality of technician monthly duties.
  • Maintain adequate onboarding and ongoing competencies for pharmacy technicians.
  • Perform routine quality audits on each site as determined by the System Medication Safety Pharmacist.
  • Compile data and disseminate results to multiple levels of leaders and employees.
  • Train other pharmacy personnel in various operations and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associates Degree in a Related Field preferred.
  • 1 year of hospital pharmacy technician experience required; 2 years as a pharmacy technician within CoxHealth at a Tech III or higher preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
  • Self-starter with the ability to monitor and compile data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in training pharmacy personnel.
  • Familiarity with Central pharmacy operations and decentralized areas.
