As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s) and assist in all pharmacy operations' functions. Your responsibilities will include the preparation and distribution of all doses of medication, maintenance of drug inventories, and completion of patients' records pertaining to drug therapy. This role is crucial in ensuring that medication is accurately prepared and distributed, and that all records are meticulously maintained to support patient care. You will be involved in tasks such as re-stocking automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital, drug packaging and re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, and re-stocking code carts. The position requires working evenings from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, providing essential support to the pharmacy team during these hours.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of all doses of medication.
  • Maintain drug inventories, including re-stocking automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital.
  • Perform drug packaging and re-packaging as needed.
  • Engage in extemporaneous compounding of medications.
  • Re-stock code carts to ensure they are ready for emergencies.
  • Complete patients' records pertaining to drug therapy, including aminoglycoside protocol orders and drug charges & credits.

Requirements

  • PTCB Certification is required.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification is required.
  • Hospital experience is preferred, with at least 1 year of previous hospital experience being ideal.
