About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at El Camino Health, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the appropriate and effective dispensing of medications and supplies, contributing to the delivery of quality pharmaceutical care and services. This role is crucial in facilitating the smooth operation of the pharmacy department, where you will perform various functions that support the pharmacist and enhance patient care. You will be expected to engage in tasks that require attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols, ensuring that all medications are dispensed accurately and efficiently. In this full-time position, you will be scheduled for 80 hours bi-weekly, working day shifts of 8 hours each. The role may involve standing or walking for up to 49% of your shift, and you may occasionally need to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs. Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in dispensing medications and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations in all pharmacy operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • One year of hospital Pharmacy Technician experience preferred, or completion of an externship at El Camino Hospital.
  • Current State of California technician registration is required.
  • Certificate from a Pharmacy Technician program is preferred.
  • Chemotherapy Certification is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Glovebox Isolator hood is preferred if assigned to Los Gatos.
