About the position

The Pharmacy Technician at Havasu Regional Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting the Pharmacy Department by managing pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining positive customer relations. This position requires effective communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive pharmaceutical tasks for the Pharmacy Department.
  • Maintain an optimal level of pharmaceutical inventory through effective purchasing procedures.
  • Develop and maintain external contacts with medical service representatives and other pharmacy professionals.
  • Handle medications in an effective and timely manner, ensuring appropriate storage and delivery.
  • Conform to hospital and department policies as well as state and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Optimize medication-related quality in the hospital and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Promote positive customer relations and contribute to a supportive work environment.
  • Protect the health and safety of patients and staff by properly handling chemicals and drugs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Arizona pharmacy technician license required on hire.
  • PTCB certification required on hire.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Effective human relations skills for interfacing with team members and patients.
  • Ability to function effectively in a stressful environment.
  • Proficiency in using equipment such as telephone, fax machine, calculator, and computer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and standards.
