About the position

The Pharmacy Technician will support the Pharmacist by preparing, packaging, documenting, and labeling drug products. This role involves performing data entry, managing inventory control, and assisting in the preparation of various pharmaceutical products, including intravenous solutions. The technician will also ensure compliance with hospital policies and maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
• Perform data entry and filing associated with drug preparation processes.
• Assist in drug purchasing and inventory control procedures.
• Collect data for workload measurements as needed.
• Complete medication order entry and fill unit dose medication cassettes.
• Prepare sterile products according to hospital policy and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of intravenous solutions and respiratory drugs using aseptic techniques.
• Accurately prepare, package, document, and label drug products.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Perform billing, stocking, and computer order entry.
• Select appropriate drug quantity and order form of administration.
• Distribute drugs to patient medication drawers or trays and record units dispensed/returned.

Requirements

• California Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration Certificate
• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Computer literacy and proficiency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to multitask and maintain an appropriate work pace.
