About the position

The Pharmacy Technician will support the Pharmacist by preparing, packaging, documenting, and labeling drug products. This role involves performing data entry, managing inventory control, and assisting in the preparation of various pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
• Perform data entry and filing associated with the pharmacy process.
• Assist in drug purchasing and inventory control procedures.
• Collect data for workload measurements as needed.
• Complete medication order entry and fill unit dose medication cassettes.
• Prepare sterile products according to hospital policy and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of intravenous solutions and respiratory drugs using aseptic techniques.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Complete billing, stocking, and computer order entry.
• Distribute drugs to patient medication drawers or trays and record units dispensed/returned.

Requirements

• Valid Registered Pharmacy Technician license from the California Board of Pharmacy.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Computer literacy and proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to multitask and maintain an appropriate work pace.
