About the position

The Pharmacy Technician at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy team by assisting pharmacists and other pharmacy personnel in various tasks related to medication preparation, dispensing, and delivery. This position is essential for maintaining workflow within the pharmacy department and ensuring quality care for patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists and pharmacy personnel in all aspects of hospital pharmacy operations.
• Prepare, dispense, and deliver medications for inpatients and outpatients.
• Charge medications and fill Pyxis™ Medstations.
• Credit and redistribute returns and assist in maintaining inventory levels.
• Maintain workflow in the IV room, including delivering IVs to nursing units and recycling IV products.
• Process IV returns and batch IVs and syringes as backup stock for new orders.

Requirements

• Certified Pharmacy Technician in good standing
• High School Diploma or equivalent
