About the position

Vibra Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Vibra Hospital of Denver, a 54-bed Critical Care Hospital located in Thornton, CO. Our hospital specializes in providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries, including those with complex medical conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized facility, we pride ourselves on creating a fast-paced and friendly work environment where our staff can build meaningful relationships with patients and their families. In this role, the Pharmacy Technician will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and will be responsible for a variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital's drug distribution system. This includes filling physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and ensuring the confidentiality of patient records. The Pharmacy Technician may also participate in the hospital's Antibiotic Stewardship Program, emphasizing patient safety and public health. Responsibilities

  • Fill physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations.
  • Maintain the drug inventory and ensure the availability of medications.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.
  • Perform a variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital drug distribution system.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment required.
  • Valid driver's license necessary in states with multiple facilities requiring delivery to sites.
  • Six (6) months experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
  • Ability to project a professional image and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Additional certifications related to pharmacy practice.
