This role is pivotal in supporting the Pharmacist in delivering Pharmaceutical Care. The main areas of responsibility for this position include one or more of the following: Basic Zone Tech, CRCH Tech, Non-Sterile Compounding, or Billing. The Pharmacy Technician is expected to manage the inventory, stocking, and maintenance of the carousel and Pyxis units, including handling downtimes effectively. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for delivering medications to various units and departments throughout the hospital, ensuring that all medications are accounted for and delivered in a timely manner. The role also involves performing charges, credits, and returns in the Epic system, managing the Epic message/call center, and overseeing the management of expiring drugs throughout the hospital. Monthly unit inspections are a critical part of the responsibilities, as well as checking in, reconciling, and refilling EMS boxes, code trays, and other necessary supplies. The technician will prepare non-sterile kits for the IV Admixture and dispensing areas, and will also be responsible for preparing medications for patient-specific needs, floor stock, cart fill, and departmental dispensing, which includes the cleaning and dispensing of leeches. Furthermore, the technician will manage the dispensing and returns of controlled substances through the C-II Safe and will be tasked with researching and resolving any discrepancies related to the Pyxis system as appropriate. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, as well as a strong customer service orientation.
