The Pharmacy Tech I position at The Hospitals of Providence - Trans Mountain Campus is a part-time role that involves assisting in the preparation, packaging, delivery, and charging of medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in pharmacy within a hospital setting. The Pharmacy Tech I will be responsible for various tasks that ensure the efficient operation of the pharmacy department and the safe delivery of medications to patients. In this role, the Pharmacy Tech I will fill and label medications accurately, stock medications into the pharmacy inventory, and restock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) as needed. Maintaining adequate medication stock levels and ensuring proper storage of medications is crucial. The technician will also be responsible for delivering medications to patient care areas and attending to medication requests and phone calls from healthcare staff. Additionally, the Pharmacy Tech I will assist in pharmacy quality assurance activities and comply with all state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies and procedures. The position requires a proactive approach to assisting pharmacists in various duties as assigned, contributing to a collaborative and efficient pharmacy team. This role is essential in supporting the overall mission of providing high-quality patient care through effective medication management.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Pharmacy Technician certification (based on state requirements).
  • Pharmacy technician experience.
  • Hospital experience preferred.
