Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.

  • Provide support in the oncology pharmacy department, particularly with chemotherapy preparations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication delivery to patients.
  • Maintain accurate records of medications and pharmacy operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT) required.
  • Completion of a chemotherapy training program through the National Pharmacy Technician Association or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in oncology is required.
  • One year of hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program is preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Sterile Products Training program is preferred.
