Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Tech II Cert compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions. This role may also involve performing some clerical duties relating to the department, receiving and storing incoming supplies, verifying stock, and entering data in the computer to maintain inventory records. The Pharmacy Tech II Cert relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of complicated tasks. This position may lead the work of others and typically reports to a manager or supervisor. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Performs clerical duties related to the pharmacy department.
  • Receives and stores incoming supplies.
  • Verifies stock and enters data in the computer to maintain inventory records.
  • Plans and accomplishes goals relying on experience and judgment.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • May lead the work of others.

Requirements

  • High school diploma equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
