The Certified Pharmacy Technician II plays a crucial role in supporting the Pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting. Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients.
• Interact with healthcare professionals, including nurses and physicians, to ensure effective medication management.
• Maintain familiarity with a wide range of medications and their uses.
• Solve simple mathematical and logistical problems in the work environment.
• Complete orientation competencies and maintain required certifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician training course is preferred.
• One year of pharmacy experience required for Registrar I.
• Registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professionals is required.
• Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician is required within 9 months of hire.
• Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy in medication management.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous pharmacy work experience is preferred.
• Customer service orientation is beneficial.
